.ABSTRACT: Wireless networks have been very popular research field for the last couple of years. XBee is a new technology now being deployed for wireless sensor networks. XBee is a low data rate wireless network standard defined by the XBee Alliance and based on the IEEE The XBee wireless network has some advantages compared with other wireless networks, it has the characteristics of low power, low price, highly secured and reliable, so implementing a remote motor control and monitoring system proves to have a good cost performance ratio.

.OBJECTIVE: In recent years, wireless sensor networks have widely spread in many areas including industrial data transfer and process control applications. In the present days Automated systems have less manual operations more flexibility, reliability and accuracy. Due to this demand every field prefers automated control systems. Especially in the field of electronics automated systems are giving good performance. And this is realized by making use of XBee technology for communication. XBee is new wireless technology guided by IEEE Personal Area Network standard. It is primarily designed for the wide ranging controlling applications and to replace the existing non-standard technologies.

.BLOCK DIAGRAM: TRANSMITTER:

.METHODOLOGY: A general block diagram of the proposed scheme is given in Figure. The whole system is divided into two parts-transmitter and receiver. In the transmitter part a key input is provided to control the speed of the DC Motor present at the plant location. The pressed key input is simultaneously fed to the ARM7. This is transmitted efficiently and smoothly to receiver end through wireless XBee Communication Protocol (IEEE Standards). The ARM7 at the transmitter end is so programmed that to identify pressed key for the DC Motor come out of the desired or safety limit, a signal will be generated by the ARM7. All the processor and controllers are interconnected through XBee. An 32-bit ARM Processor has been used to interface the IEEE standard, XBee protocol.

5. ADVANTAGES & DISADVANTAGES: ADVANTAGES: 1.Very low power consumption. 2.Reliable data transfer. 3.Secure. 4.Supports large number of nodes. 5.Excellent performance in environments with low SNR 6.Can be used globally. DISADVANTAGES: 1.It increases the cost whereas digital systems reduce the cost of system.

.APPLICATIONS: 1.This project can be implemented in Military applications. 2.This project can be implemented in Hospitals. 3.This project can be implemented in Automotive domain.

.CONCLUSION: This proposed controller successfully operates wirelessly with a distance of 70 meters between the controller. More over any change to the controller can be incorporated to the design and realized in hardware rapidly. Thus, it is easily possible to customize the controller for any industrial applications. Comparing to other technology, the proposed controller is relatively simple, low cost and can be reprogrammable. In addition, the architecture has been expanded to control more than one motor at one time by addressing technique.
