Charts Chart

Choosing what to show in a Chart To show cost of individual spend in Leeds: Highlight items and price ONLY (no headings or totals).

Choosing a Chart Choose the INSERT TAB. Click on down arrow near Column icon. Choose 2d.

Choosing a Style A range of Chart Styles will appear. Click on any style of your choice. Change the colour if you wish.

Using Quick Layout Click on the down arrow near Quick Layout. Choose Layout 9 (All charts must show Title, X and Y axis).

Labelling your Chart Click on Series 1 and delete with delete key. Click on Chart Title. Immediately start typing Cost for Leeds Holiday, then press ENTER. Do the same with the Axis Titles to label them too.

Comparison Chart To compare 2012 price with 2014 price. If the entries you wish to compare are not next to each other, highlight the first two columns in this example, then hold down the Ctrl key on keyboard and highlight the remaining column. Release Ctrl key.

Legend To compare 2012 with 2014 I have used a Line Chart. A Legend is the key to the chart, i.e. Series 1 and Series 2. To label these to show 2012 as the blue line and 2014 as the red line, right click on Series 1 and choose Select Data. Series 1 will be highlighted, so choose Edit and type in the Series name as shown below. Click OK. Click on Series 2 and do the same.

Copy a chart to Word Right click on a white area of the chart. Choose Copy. Open the Word document you wish to transfer it to, and make sure the mouse is in the correct place where you want the chart to appear. Press Paste.
