To Kill a Mockingbird: Journal 1 Today’s Topic: History and Community 1)What do you know about the history of your town? How has the town changed over the years? How has it stayed the same? 2)What are the people in your town like? What do you like about them? What do you not like about them?

To Kill a Mockingbird: Journal 2 Today’s Topic: Do teachers “get” you? 1)Do you feel like most of your teachers understand who you are as a person. Do they understand what you need to succeed in school? What factors might prevent teachers from having a better understanding of you? 2) Respond to one of the following: A. Write about a time where a teacher was especially helpful to you. How did this teacher show that they understood your needs? How did this relationship benefit you academically and personally? B. Write about a time when a teacher completely misunderstood you. How did this misunderstanding hurt your relationship with the teacher? How did it hurt your performance in the class?
