WELCOME STB CONFIRMATION YEAR I Building church…

You are to build a church with the following characteristics Strength Beauty Warmth You have 25 minutes!

If your group constructed an actual church building, why did it do so? The instructions mentioned only a church, not necessarily a place of worship. So… how did we do?

What is St. Thomas Becket? Wrong question… it should be who is St. Thomas Becket? STB is primarily defined by its people! We are a community of believers bound together by a common faith in Jesus. What is a confirmation small group? The “Real” churches you started building here were the groups themselves! YOU ARE STB… not the building!

If you are church, what is your job as a confirmation group? To Work together with a common purpose and direction. Learn about our Catholic faith and then live it in community! Think about how you did your job a part of “church” in your group. Your group “Church” needs ALL of you to be successful! When you built church did you…. …cooperate with one another? …respond well when (if) a leader emerged? …try to help or did you sit back and do your own thing? Be church for one another… this is the HEART of our Catholic faith!

So what is church? The church is the people called together by God. The members profess faith in the risen Christ and his message and, Through the power of Holy Spirit, live a life of loving service to all people! And the final answer is…
