Wandering Camera DPRK

The Tower of Juche Idea statue in central Pyongyang. Juche is the philosophy of self reliance thought up by Kim Il Sung and the tower was apparently erected in 1982 and stands 150 meters tall. It is one of the few brightly lit structures in Pyongyang in the evening, there not being enough electricity for most street lighting. Apparently local diplomats and aid workers have nicknamed it the "glowing penis." If you look closely you will notice the tower blocks behind it are built in symmetry to enhance the view.
