So….What’s in Our Food?

Words to know  MSG- is a flavor enhancer commonly added to Chinese food, canned vegetables, soups and processed meats. (  Preservatives- Food preservatives refer to additives that are put into food to extend its shelf life. They prevent spoilage of the food due to bacteria, molds and fungi and slow down changes in color and texture that make the product inedible or unappetizing.  Nitrates- Nitrates and nitrites are frequently added to processed meats like bacon, ham, sausages and hot dogs.  They function as preservatives, helping to prevent the growth of harmful bacteria.  GMOs- Genetically modified organisms (GMOs)

GMOs  The majority of GMO plants are used to make ingredients that are then used in other food products. These include:  Corn starch in soups and sauces  Corn syrup used as a sweetener  Corn oil, canola oil and soybean oil in mayonnaise, salad dressings, breads, and snack foods  Sugar from sugar beets in various foods  Other major crops with GMO varieties include potatoes, squash, apples, and papayas.

 How to Avoid GMO  ONLY foods labeled organic are 100% GMO free.  Look for the following The USDA National Organic Standards prohibit the use of GMOs. Choose products that have been verified non-GMO by a 3rd-party, like the Non- GMO Project All plant-derived ingredients in 365 Everyday Value® food products are sourced to avoid GMOs.

Coca Cola  Carbonated tap water – Whatever is in unfiltered municipal water is also in your Coke.  E150D – This is a food coloring, which is made from processing sugar at certain temperatures. Ammonium sulfate is then added : This chemical has been known to increase asthma attacks.  E952 – This is a sugar substitute. It is 200 times sweeter than sugar This can lead to diabetes, obesity and other diseases.

.  E951 – Aspartame – Symptoms of aspartame poisoning include: unconsciousness, headaches, fatigue, dizziness, nausea, palpitation, weight gain, irritability, anxiety, memory loss, blurry vision, fainting, joint pains, depression, infertility, hearing loss and more. Aspartame can also provoke the following diseases: brain tumors, MS (Multiple Sclerosis), epilepsy, Graves’ disease, chronic fatigue, Alzheimer’s, diabetes, mental deficiency and tuberculosis. Later, this substance was initially illegal due to its dangers but was again made legal in a suspicious manner.  E330 – Citric Acid – This is preservative that is also used in the medical field for preserving blood. In small doses it is fine, but in large doses it can eat away at your stomach and esophageal lining.  E211 – Sodium Benzoate – According to a study completed by Peter Piper at the Sheffield University in Britain, sodium benzoate can harm DNA
