Things to Remember for Research A little thing can make a BIG difference (WRITE THIS DOWN!)

You MUST have a class color folder! Your research folder needs to be set up according to the handout you were given. Your rubric needs to be stapled to the front of your paper and your turnitin.com receipt to the back.

ONE MORE TIME! NEVER USE “YOU” IN A PAPER!!!!   

Intro. Your intro should be 8-10 sentences long Thesis is the LAST sentence in our intro. You must PICK A SIDE of the controversial issue to prove.

Body Paragraphs THERE MUST BE 3 BODY PARAGRAPHS You body paragraph HAS TO HAVE 8 sentences! –You can have more, but NO LESS The quotes MUST BE CITED Your concluding sentence should BOTH SUMMARIZE the paragraph and TRANSITION to the next

Conclusion Your conclusion should be 6-8 sentences long Your restated thesis is the FIRST sentence of your conclusion –This is the OPPOSITE of the intro.

Works Cited You need 3 sources –1 book –2 articles This is on its own page! If you are unsure how to cite something ASK!

DUE DATE Due October 20 th (Wednesday) Must be put together BEFORE you come to class Will be taken up when the tardy bell rings otherwise it is LATE

TURNITIN.COM Your paper MUST be uploaded by October 27 th (Friday) at 5:00 pm. Turnitin.com will be open until next Wednesday, you will have over a week to get your paper uploaded If your paper is NOT uploaded by 5:00 pm Oct. 27 it will be 2 major grade ZEROS Waiting until the last minute NEVER works and I will have NO sympathy
