STANDARDS AND REGULATIONS PRESENTATION TO PASC XXX 26 April 2007

STANDARDS ALTERNATIVE TO REGULATION Standards offer an alternative to introducing regulation, particularly where a sector is subject to rapid change and legislation may lag. Standards are less burdensome to business – because they grow from close consultation with affected sectors – while still providing essential assurance to small business and consumers.
