Initial Engagement of Cases Initial engagement of the family involves an assessment of protective factors related to resilience. Client factors are assessed through the process of the clinical interview, and the administration of objective assessment measures Periodic Assessment Batteries are administered at intake and every six months thereafter. Factors in the child’s environment are also assessed through the interview process. The initial phase of treatment often includes the referral, coordination, and advocacy to additional supportive services.

Assessment-informed Treatment Planning How do periodic assessments help us?  At intake, you will know what kinds of problems clients are experiencing.  Assessment results establish a baseline level of functioning.  Follow-ups can provide information on progress, as well as areas that require additional attention.  Measures can identify areas of clinical risk.  Assessment results can help with treatment planning  Assessments are one tool of many that provide us with information -- clinical observation, client verbal accounts, etc. are all valuable.
