Types of Governments  Monarchy – King/Queen + hereditary  Constitutional monarchy – King/Queen + elected officials  Democracy – elected officials  Oligarchy – group rule  Totalitarian dictatorship – total control over everything

Types of Systems  Capitalism – free enterprise, private companies and supply and demand control the economy  Socialism – goal of equality, government controls most things, high taxes and social benefits  Unitary system – single government  Federal system – shared power between state and federal governments
