Mather Woods Located in Plainfield, IL-West of the DuPage River on Renwick Road Purchased by the Plainfield Park District in 2001 Funding provided by: Open Lands Trust Grant Program (OLT), Open Space Land Acquisition and Development Grant Program (OSLAD), and local matching funds

Total Site Acreage = 60 Acres Woodlands = 40 Acres Prairie = 20 Acres Project Area

NIIPP- Mather Woods Invasive Plant Control Project Educate the public on awareness of invasive species Conduct a volunteer day to provide first hand experience on identification and control methods in a safe manner

June 25, 2011 Over 35 volunteers participated Volunteers removed a combination of garlic mustard, honey suckle, and buckthorn Removal performed by volunteers included hand pulling and the utilization of a Weedwrench® Park District staff performed mechanical clearing with chainsaws and applied Garlon® 4 Ultra herbicide to cut stumps
