Philanthropy vs. Service Philanthropy –Raising money for a cause like March of Dimes, American Red Cross, etc. –Can be a big fun event or simply collecting spare change on the side of the road Service –Performing a service to the community Tutoring children, assisting in a soup kitchen –Usually no money involved

Tips for a Successful Philanthropy Plan ahead –Put your plans into action at least 3 months in advance Utilize local/student newspapers, facebook and IHQ for publicity Get the sponsor organization as involved as possible
