Approach to the Commuting Model -Verify population change in is on previous track/trend -Add long distance commuting to the model “Driving or flying home for the holiday” -Coordinate PMT with air travel model -Air (PMT) + Ground (PMT) = total PMT for long commuting -Determine the number of long distance commuters - Obtain zip code data to determine the distances -Determine how many long distance commuters live close enough to drive, how many fly home -Make assumption about how far people are willing to drive (~7 hours?)

Approach to Commuting Model -Update Student/Faculty/Staff population per zip code data Parking Permit/zip code info for Use Google maps for actual local driving distances -Verify Color coding of permits has been accounted for - break out all permit colors for analysis -Make assumptions about how different permits correspond to amounts of driving -Coordinate limits of model with the shuttle group -Commuting model will stop at the edge of campus and shuttle model will handle all on campus travel.
