Topic: Do you know what you are going to do in the future? Students ’ age: Junior high school students Students ’ proficiency level: Intermediate

Objectives: Students will learn vocabularies from the dialogue. Students will learn the sentences. - Students will learn how to say the occupations and express their thoughts of future jobs.

(1) Play the CD and practice the dialogue with the students (2) Teach the vocabularies and read to the students (3) Explain the grammar and let the students have more practice

Whole class discussion: T: Where are they? Ss: They are in the classroom. T: What are they talking about? Ss: They ’ re talking about what they would like to be when they grow up. T: How do they look? Ss: They look happy.

Sentence Practice: (1) I forget where I bought the dictionary. Could you tell me why he wants to be a fire fighter? I ’ d like to know when the typhoon will hit Taiwan. Please tell me how can I run a successful business. I have no idea who the girl is. We ’ re not sure what they have decided to talk about. (2) I ’ m not sure whether/if I should ask her the question (or not). Do you know whether/if the kids played on the playground this afternoon or not?

Activities: Choose 10 students and ask them come to the stage. Those 10 students need to describe what they like to do and their interests. Other students have to guess what occupations will those students most likely to do.
