Platinum DecisionBase3 Description PLATINUM DecisionBase is a data transformation and movement tool that helps you build data marts and warehouses right — without compromising scalability, ease of use, complex transformations, or robust metadata management. With a graphical mapping tool, sophisticated transformation and movement capabilities, and the industry-leading repository technology, DecisionBase defines, creates, and maintains data warehouses in a client/server environment. DecisionBase is the only end-to-end data warehouse solution that offers a mature metadata technology and a robust data movement language, all managed from a graphical interface.

Platinum DecisionBase5 Product Focus  Data Warehousing  Data Transformation  Data Movement

Platinum DecisionBase6 Benefits (1)  Unmatched Data Access : Extracts, moves, and integrates data from a variety of relational and non-relational sources, including ERP systems such as SAP.

Platinum DecisionBase7 Benefits (2)  Metadata Capture from All Major Databases : DecisionBase offers the industry-leading repository technology, providing one common storage place for all enterprise-wide metadata. This single source assures data consistency across the organization. DecisionBase's metadata manager is fully extensible to the entire enterprise. DecisionBase provides access to metadata easily through any standard Internet browser.

Platinum DecisionBase8 Benefits (3)  Leverages Data Models Created in PLATINUM Erwin : Allows you to create movement applications before the actual RDBMS exist, by scanning physical database models created in PLATINUM ERwin into the DecisionBase Metadata Manager, in order to validate the models and uncover potential shortcomings.

Platinum DecisionBase9 Benefits (4)  Simple Point and Click Development : The DecisionBase Mapper is an easy, fast, and efficient graphical user interface for creating data warehouse movement applications for the data warehouse.

Platinum DecisionBase10

Platinum DecisionBase11 Benefits (5)  Complex Transformations Made Easy : Performs complex transformation and movement tasks easily, saving development time and costs, with drag- and-drop operations. DecisionBase provides transformations for hundreds of commonly used movement operations. Transformations are reusable from one environment to another.

Platinum DecisionBase12 Architecture (1)

Platinum DecisionBase13 Architecture (2)  Step One: The DecisionBase Metadata Manager scans and captures the metadata from the various data sources.  Step Two: The DecisionBase Mapper allows you to describe how source data is selected, transformed, and passed to target databases. It creates mappings and transformations (logic applied during the mappings) and stores these as additional metadata in the Metadata Manager.

Platinum DecisionBase14 Architecture (3)  Step Three: The Mapper generates a movement program from the transformation mappings and sends it to the Data Movement Server.  Step Four: The DecisionBase Data Movement Server performs the actual work of extracting the data from the source(s), transforming the data, and moving it to the target database(s).
