Step One: Executive Summary Brainstorm ideas for your product/business On the report: Name of your business and description of your strategic goals. Advice: Very clear and to the point. It is your business/product so highlight your strengths and outline the plan for your customers.

Step Two: Description Finalise what goals your business would like to achieve in to three or four points. On the report: What the business hopes to achieve AND overview of the industry Advice: This requires a bit more elaboration and detail! Think of what you as an owner want from your business/product and describe the industry in which this will occur. (This is market research put into practice)

Step Three: Marketing Plan Finalise what goals your business would like to achieve in to three or four points.

Step Three: Marketing Plan This allows you to be a little creative and show off your product/business. On the report: Describe each aspect of Marketing and the more thorough you are, the more likely your product would sell. Advice: This requires a very thorough description of your product (include images/diagrams were appropriate. Also PART C serves as an example of your promotion so include a description of that here.

Write a series of steps of how you are going to arrange finance, in terms of the initial money you are going to need to start up the business and fund business activities. You must explain how you will get access to this money, if you are getting a bank loan you must include the name of the bank as well as the conditions of the loan. All advantages/disadvantages as well. Step Four: Financial Plan

Step Five: Action Plan Include a brief description (Step-by-step) of how you want your business to be run. Advice: You need to consider materials required, production process/servicing times, you could mention legal regulations here, running costs (approx.) In nutshell it is how your product is designed, manufactured right up to being sold.

Step Five: Action Plan Develop a job description for potential staff. You may design this as you like but must include:  Title of the position  Roles and responsibilities  Pay entitlements  Sick leave entitlements  Opportunities for promotion

Evaluation Write a short explanation about whether you think your business will be successful or not words. Hint: You do not have actual sales information to measure success, however consider other similar products or service and their success

Final Report There is no correct way to layout your final report, but the easiest way would be a Report template from Microsoft word. The use of headings helps you manage the information. Any images, graphs, diagrams… can simply be used where required.
