BACK NEXT YOUR PROGRESS CC WHAT IS WEBEX?  WebEx is a communication technology that allows people from different locations to work and meet in a virtual session. WebEx provides tools to collaborate and share ideas using audio, video and other digital content such as specific documents, applications or share your desktop with everyone in the session. BACK NEXT YOUR PROGRESS CC BEFORE YOU GET STARTED  There are some things you are going to need to do before hosting your first WebEx Session.

BACK NEXT YOUR PROGRESS CC WHAT WILL I NEED? Devices and Testing Your Settings

BACK NEXT YOUR PROGRESS CC A COMPUTER OR MOBILE DEVICE  You will need either a computer or mobile device with a stable internet connection. We suggest using a computer rather than mobile device.

BACK NEXT YOUR PROGRESS CC A MICROPHONE AND SPEAKERS  If you don’t have a microphone or speakers built in to your computer (most laptops do), you will need to plug these in.  Using a webcam with a microphone incorporated will also work, although a webcam is not required.

BACK NEXT YOUR PROGRESS CC MORE ABOUT USING A MOBILE DEVICE…  You can use a mobile device to join a WebEx session, however some features of WebEx may not be available (like participation tools, breakout rooms, and polling).  It is HIGHLY recommended that you use a desktop device with a stable internet connection in order to get the best possible WebEx experience.

BACK NEXT YOUR PROGRESS CC LOGGING IN TO WEBEX  Before you can schedule your meeting, you will need to go to cpcc.webex.com to access CPCC WebEx cpcc.webex.com  Here you can also browse other meetings, or join a meeting in progress

BACK NEXT YOUR PROGRESS CC PREPARING FOR A SESSION  Give yourself time before your first WebEx meeting to:  Test your browser  Test your hardware (your speakers and microphone)  Install the WebEx plugin

BACK NEXT YOUR PROGRESS CC HOW TO SCHEDULE A MEETING  Once you are at cpcc.webex.com, look on the left side of your screen and click on “Host a Meeting”  You will be prompted to enter your CPCC username and password

BACK NEXT YOUR PROGRESS CC MANAGING SESSION PANELS, TOOLBARS, AND MENUS  You can manage what session panels, toolbars and menus are visible in your meeting. Click the video to learn more

BACK NEXT YOUR PROGRESS CC RECORDING YOUR MEETING  You can use WebEx to record your class meetings and view and share them in the future.  From inside your WebEx session just click the “record button”

BACK NEXT YOUR PROGRESS CC HOSTING YOUR CLASS MEETING Using Chat, Conducting Polls, and Sharing Content

BACK NEXT YOUR PROGRESS CC USING THE CHAT FEATURE  The chat feature is a great way to communicate with participants. You can send messages to any participant, or to the entire group. Click the video to view a tutorial on using the chat panel.

BACK NEXT YOUR PROGRESS CC CONDUCT A POLL  You can also conduct a poll to communicate with participants. Polls can be used to check for understanding, gain feedback, or as an ice- breaking activity.

BACK NEXT YOUR PROGRESS CC SHARE A VIDEO  You can also use WebEx to share content such as videos. Click the image to the left to view a tutorial on how to share videos with your particpants.

BACK NEXT YOUR PROGRESS CC SHARE YOUR DESKTOP  Sometimes you may need to share your computers desktop with you participants. This can be handy if you want to show your participants how to complete a task. Click the image to the right to view a tutorial on sharing your desktop in WebEx.

BACK NEXT YOUR PROGRESS CC SHARE WHITEBOARD  The Whiteboard is a great way to interact with and engage your participants. Click the image on the left to see how to use the WebEx Whiteboard.

BACK NEXT YOUR PROGRESS CC USING THE Q&A PANEL  You may want to use the WebEx Question and Answer Panel throughout your meeting to answer questions from your participants. Click the image on the left to see how.

BACK NEXT YOUR PROGRESS CC ASSIGNING, TAKING, SAVING MEETING NOTES  You can also use WebEx to take notes during your meeting or training session. Those notes can be saved for future use. Click the image on the right to see how.

BACK NEXT YOUR PROGRESS CC RESTRICTING PARTICIPANT ACCESS  Unfortunately, you may run into an incident where you feel you need to expel a participant from a meeting, or restrict access to your meeting. Click the image on the left learn how to restrict participant access.
