INTERESTING FACTS At Night time the leaflets fold up and droop on the Black Locust. The tree is used for erosion purposes. Black Locust trees grow better in sandy or rocky soil. The Black Locust also cannot tolerate shade it loves the sunshine. The bark and seeds are toxic for humans or cows to eat.

The wood fits good as fence post because the last thing a farmer wants is his fence post rotting down at the bottom. Wood that is strong and durable is what you want because you know you can trust it.

Although black locust wood is very hard and rot resistant, it has limited commercial value. It has been used to manufacture fence posts and railway ties, and it was previously used in the shipbuilding industry Black Locust wood is very hard and rot resistant. It is used for Fence post, railway ties, and shipbuilding

Leaves are green bark is strong I am dependable when things go wrong. Cabinets and fence post are made out of me My wood is useful so I don’t come free. Life is fun especially in the spring. When all my leaves come back green It’s the most beautiful sight you have ever seen So please think twice about cutting down me
