The Case Of The Lucky Penny

One dark, chilly night, I was walking home from Croppers’. I had just bought some Act II popcorn because I was out of it, and planned on watching a movie. I left the store at 6:56 P.M. that night.

I was wearing my fingerless gloves because it’s winter time. By the time I got to my house, I was still chewing my peppermint gum. Peppermint is my favorite flavor! I spit is right out when I saw that my extremely lucky penny was gone from the top of my dresser. I was as mad as a bull!

“ Hi, I’m Jane. I’m a victim of theft. I’m 23 years old. Like I said, I love peppermint chewing gum.”

I suspect that Bob could have stolen my lucky penny because he was just at my house. But why?! I go ring my friend’s doorbell. He answers the door in a wheelchair. He said that he was home all day long with a broken leg. I noticed that his wheelchair was make-shift.

After leaving Bob’s house, I went to the Dairy Queen to get an ice cream cone. Of course, as I thought, my friend Zim was there with his pet dog, Gir. He said that he was there all day. I definitely believe that! I knew that he had done no harm.

For dinner that night, I went to Friday’s. Friday’s was Alejandro’s least favorite restaurant. When I went to his house, he said he was at Friday’s earlier on. He wasn’t there because I didn’t even see someone that looked close to what he looks like!

I knew Alejandro stole my penny. I confronted him, he apologized, and gave my penny back. Oh yeah, Bob’s wheelchair was make-shift because he told me that he was short on money. I guess my penny is luck after all.
