My Topic and Research I chose film because I want to pursue a career in the film industry. I enjoy film and want to learn the “how’s and way’s” film is put together for the viewer’s enjoyment. My research included magazine articles including new media careers, film, and new media technology to help me understand the industry and its many facets. I also checked out the Sundance Movie Festival website for further research. Maloney

What I Found I found new technology on the rise and new media in the job market today that I am interested in. With this in mind, a career in the media is promising My research also helped me more understand the industry of television and film. Maloney

Careers: Animated Films Animated Films bring graphic design to life. The film industry always has plenty of room for animated films because of their popularity Major Animation Film Companies include Pixar and Disney. These types of films depend on graphic designers. Maloney

Television Everybody watches television I want to see how sitcoms are made, how they are put together so that one day I may be able to create one. Along with sitcoms, I want to see how Saturday Night Live, Mad T.V. and talk shows are put together also the news, ESPN, reality shows, etc… I found that it is not as easy as it looks. Maloney

Film Film has always been an interest of mine and I decided recently that I may want to give a career in this industry a shot People say this industry is even tougher than the music industry to succeed, but again I am not looking to be a star director, actor, or producer Maloney

Finally I would like to say that where ever I go within any one of these industries that I will be happy with any of the three: Animation, Television, or Film. Hopefully Film over the other two, but I’m starting here at King’s My research for this class helped me find out new ideas, techniques Maloney
