Introduction to Physics

What is similar about these objects?

Physics These objects all are governed by the laws of physics. This list goes on and on.

What is science? “It’s the state of knowing. It’s a system of knowledge covering general thruth or the operation of general laws especially as obtained and tested through scientific method” (Merriam-Webster Dictionary). It’s a study of nature’s rules. The science roots deeply into human history. In ancient times, the science was called natural philosophy.

The Branches of Science The Life Sciences The Physical Sciences Biology - Geology Zoology - Astronomy Botany - Chemistry - Physics

The Definitions of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology Physics – the basics of all sciences. It studies matter, forces, energy, motion, composition of atoms, light, sound, and heat. Chemistry – the study of all substances. It’s a study of the properties of matter, how atoms combine into molecules, and how molecules are combined to form matter. Biology – the study all of live, from cells development into tissues and organisms to the changes that occur in organisms over period of time. It deals with living things, plants, and animals.

Importance of Physics As we can see, physics supports chemistry, and chemistry supports biology. It is why physics is considered to be the basic of all sciences.
