“As the deer…” The Bible uses deer to illustrate: The Beauty of God’s Creation. Man’s need to rely on God’s strength. A strong desire to worship God.

“The voice of the LORD makes the deer give birth… and in His temple everyone says, ‘Glory!’” (Psalm 29:9)

Those who turn away from the Lord “become like deer that find no pasture, that flee without strength before the pursuer.” Lamentations 1:6

Those who rely on God are given strength to live on a higher plane “The LORD God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer's feet, and He will make me walk on my high hills.” (Habakkuk 3:19)

“It is God who arms me with strength, and makes my way perfect. He makes my feet like the feet of deer, and sets me on my high places.” (Psalm 18:32-33)

“As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?” (Psalm 42:1-2)
