The origin of Thanksgiving The pilgrims left England on board the ship called the Mayflower on September 6 th and arrived in the new world on November 11 th, They landed in the Massachusetts Bay area where Native americans called Wampanoag already lived. They shared their knowledge of local crops and navigation, and helped the colonists survive. The first thanksgiving took place in autumn of The Pilgrims and the Native americans celebrated it. They celebrated the colony's first successful harvest.

It's bigger holiday than Christmas. All Americans try to get home for Thanksgiving.
