G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio Explain in your own words what happens on the classroom Wiki-workspace. The Wiki-workspace is a place for the students in gate to do there work and discuss there ideas with each other on the discussion portal. The Wiki-workspace is also a place for students to do their work and stay on task. We can also download different things like our checklist to help us know what to do after a certain thing so that we wont have to ask the teacher or wait for other classmates. There is also a section of websites that we can use to finish our work. There is also a section of games that Mr. Lewis has for us. These games are here for us to play win we finish our work.

G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio I use Performance Based Objectives in GATE. PBOs are important because they help us stay on task and they also help us understand what we are supposed to do and finish in GATE class.

G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio I use Language Based Objectives in GATE. LBOs are important because they help us read, write, and speak during class. We use reading, writing and speaking to finish our objectives in the GATE class.

G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio What is Red Light Thinking? Red Light Thinking is when you stop and gather facts to create evidence about the situation or object. Provide an example of Red Light thinking. Jupiter is the 5 th planet from the sun. Jupiter is the biggest planet. One day on Jupiter is 10 hours long.

G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio What is Yellow Light Thinking Yellow Light Thinking is slowing down and asking questions to draw conclusions. Provide an example of Yellow Light Thinking. What gives Uranus its blue color? the reflection of the sun

G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio What is Green Light Thinking? Green Light Thinking is asking questions to wonder Provide an example of Green Light thinking. Pretend you are an astronaut and you have been told to go explore Jupiter. What would some of the problems be? What would you need to take with you? If I were an astronaut going to explore Jupiter I would need something that would give me oxygen I would also need some kind of device that would help me reach other people in case of any emergencies. The problems I would have are in certain parts of the planet it would be very cold.

G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio Why is our GATE Student Checklist important? It is important because it tells us what to do step after step. It also is important because we don’t have to ask the teacher and we don’t have to wait for the whole class to finish.

G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio Critical Thinking Shapes Explain what is this product is and how you created it. This is a shape I made using Microsoft word, lines and a grid.

G.A.T.E. Student Portfolio GATE Student Journal An Academic goal that I want set is to read my chapter book every day until I finish it. A personal goal that I want to set is to clean my house for my mom without being asked to because that will make her very happy. When I grow up I want to be a cosmetologist because I like fashion and doing hair and doing nails because it is fun and I can be creative when I want I also love to do nails because you can use all kinds of different colors and different designs. I also like hair because you can come up with different hairstyles and you can use all kinds of different utensils for the hair. When I finish school I want to go to college to get my degree and go to school to become a cosmetologist. I also would like to be a famous baker and have my own little shop to sale all my different cupcakes and so that I can come up with different delicious ideas that I think people will like and that I will like.
