Bauer research Bauer Media is a subsidiary (sister company), with Bauer Publishing being the conglomerate (parent company). Bauer Media is a mainly UK based company and sells two main platforms (magazines and radio.) They publish 54 magazine titles and own a lot of radio stations. Furthermore they own 50% of Box TV with Channel 4 owning the other half. This acts as the content subsidiary which include: 4Music, The Box, Heat, Kerrang!, Kiss, Magic and Smash Hits. Out of all the magazines they publish, 3 are music magazines (Kerrang!, Mojo and Q.) Kerrang! And Q feature synergy as they are available on other platforms like TV channels and radio stations.
IPC Media research IPC Media is a subsidiary (sister company) to the Time Warner Company which is the conglomerate (parent company). IPC Media publish 74 different magazines in which 2 are music magazines (NME and Uncut.) With NME being a multi-platform brand which shows synergy as there is NME.com and NME video. The Time Warner Company is an American company that was founded in 1990 it’s the second largest media conglomerate in the world.
Future Publishing research This is an independent publishing company as it is not owned by any conglomerates. It started in 2006 and is the sixth largest publishing company in the UK. They publish 65 magazines and 6 of these magazines are music magazines. (Guitarist, Guitar techniques, Total guitar, Rhythm, Future music and Computer music.)
