Length: 12 to 16 meters Weight: 36,000 kg Pectoral fins: 1/3 of the body Head filled with warts Baleen: Hairs used to filter KingdomAnimalia PhylumChordata ClassMammalia OrderCetacea FamilyBalaenopteridae GenusMegaptera Specie Megaptera Novaeangliae Tail patterns are exclusive as human fingerprints

Pakicetus : Land mammal of Asia, dog-like legs, long tail, narrow snout Ambulocetus: Lived in land, went in rivers to find food. Its feed became padded and developed a longer shape body. Rodhocetus: Aquatic lifestyle, went to land only for food and breeding. Swam easier, developed flexibility.

Basilosaurus: Fully aquatic, its back legs have been reduced to vestigial limbs. Aetiocetus: Primitive adaptation, plankton feeding and some baleen next to ordinary teeth. Megaptera novaeangliae: Teeth dissapeared, only baleen. Bigger fins to swim easier.

All oceans and seas North and South Pole Eat krill and small fish Bubble net or direct attack Natural predator: killer whale Illegal hunters Contamination Crashing with ships Entangled in fishing instruments

Migrate to warm waters Reproduction and breeding 25,000 km per year Don´t eat, survive from body fat

Has a very important role in most of the marine territory. Affects the other consumers of krill plankton and other microorganisms in water. Its a huge consumer of krill and plankton, microorganisms found in water.

A Humpback Whale disappear of the ecosystem Killer Whales change their food source. Huge decrease of seals and sea lions !

The mayor consumer of krill and plankton disappear Overpopulation of consumer and of microorganisms ALTERATION OF ECOSYSTEM! ! Removing any consumer or producer of the ecosystem can make a huge damage in the entire ecosystem.
