Case 58 year old female with history of lung cancer codes during endobronchial ultrasound and goes into PEA

Pulseless Electrical Activity (PEA) Definition: presence of electrical activity, not sufficient for adequate contractions to generate a palpable pulse

Pulseless Electrical Activity (PEA) Causes: – Hypovolemia – Hypoxia – Hydrogen ions (acidosis) – Hyperkalemia / Hypokalemia – Hypoglycemia – Hypothermia – Toxins (Drugs) – Cardiac Tamponade – Tension pneumothorax – Thrombosis (MI) – Thrombosis (PE) – Trauma (hypovolemia)
