Wuppertal ttbar strategy meeting 16 August 2012, T. Cornelissen 1 Sebastian, Thijs Status of JetElectron QCD fit in resonance analysis

Wuppertal ttbar strategy meeting 16 August 2012, T. Cornelissen P 2 The JetElectron model Jet electron template created from data Select events with jet trigger: jet 20 triggers for resolved, fat jet trigger for boosted Different trigger for boosted to improve statistics Selected jet must pass kinematic cuts for electrons/muons Candidate jet must have high EM fraction (between 0.8 and 0.95), at least four tracks, jet vertex fraction > 0.75 Some of these cuts (JVF cut in particular) may be revisited Veto against real leptons in the event (loose quality cuts) Obtain normalization of QCD template by fitting missing ET distribution

Wuppertal ttbar strategy meeting 16 August 2012, T. Cornelissen P 3 JetElectrons resolved, electron channel Model describes electron events reasonably well Slight deficit visible in MC Plots to be updated following bug fix in selection (crack region was not excluded)

Wuppertal ttbar strategy meeting 16 August 2012, T. Cornelissen P 4 JetElectrons resolved, muon channel Muons show deficit at low pT in MC

Wuppertal ttbar strategy meeting 16 August 2012, T. Cornelissen P 5 JetElectrons boosted Model describes data well also with boosted selection Exception: events with dR(muon,jet)<0.4 not described due to jet algorithm Resolved analysis has cut dR>.1 in selection, so problem does not appear

Wuppertal ttbar strategy meeting 16 August 2012, T. Cornelissen P 6 Plans with JetElectron model Jet triggers used in 2011 do not exist in 2012 or are heavily prescaled, need to look for new triggers Kathrin produced new D3PDs with experimental triggers Triggers used in 2011 were anyway not optimal for ttbar, need to look into multijet triggers Alternative is to use MC (e.g. JF17) instead of data Kathrin has produced nice first results dataMC
