 Birth Date: June 25, 1903  Death Date January 21, 1950  Born in Motihari, India and the son of a British civil servant spent his first days in India, where his farther was stationed. His mother brought him and his older sister, Marjorie, to England about a year after his birth and settled in Henley-on-Thames.

 Don’t let peer pressure get you.

 Basically it is about a man that is pressured into shooting an elephant, which he doesn't want to do but dose not to be hated more than he already is in the small village he lives in.

 A man is pressured into killing the elephant, and in the end he regrets it.

 The Officer ends up shooting the elephant multiple times and kills it.

 “I often wondered whether any of the others grasped that I had done it solely to avoid looking a fool”

 How is the officer pressure into shooting the elephant?  What is Orwell's attitude towards imperialism?  What is the implied assumption in the first sentence.

 I think it was interesting that the owner of the elephant didn’t really chase him when he got out.
