PROJECT GENERAL OBJECTIVES To ensure a better correspondence between skills provided from the educational system and the effective demand from the companies, following the EU Recommendation “New skills for new jobs”, aiming at: Help to better forecast the future skill requirements Better balance the supply of skills and need of the labour market Help to improve the relationship between education and labour market
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES Transfer and validation of KN software (Knowledge Network) at EU level, collecting information about the characters of the companies and about the skills demand; Creation of a pan-European tool, localized for different countries, to help SME (Small and Medium Enterprises) and VET (Vocational Educational institutes) to describe skills in a transparent and transferable way.
Public authorities at national, regional and local level, enterprises, social parties, education agencies and individuals can benefit from regular information about the changes in short term of the requirements of skills and professionalism that emerge from the job market and the evolution of job offer and its future projection COMPANIES WORKERS PUBLIC AUTHORITIES EDUCATION INSTITUTES SMART KN
It is essential to improve the activities of monitoring and evaluation of the labour market perspectives compared to the skills request to: Facilitate the coupling of professional abilities with the actual job offers; Promote the development of such abilities in order to improve the long term employment perspectives; Help the reintegration in job market.

CLASSIFICATION The classification concerns sectors of activity, professionals and skills it will be collected in a catalogue. The catalogue will be created using a bottom-up approach, starting from operative positions, and it will be defined during the survey by companies and workers.
