Story of… Mr. Berkowitz is from California and has a military background being that his parents met during the second Great War. At 18, he joined the Marine Corps and after his basic training he took a twelve week course on photography and graduated top of his class. Due to this he had a choice of where to be stationed, he chose Vietnam. On his first ship out he was stationed in Okinawa where he quickly addressed his superiors to fix the problem of where he was sent.

Story cont…. After arriving in Vietnam he served by taking photos to show the life of the grunts in the field. On patrol he caught grunts doing the most basic and most rigorous duties that these determined grunts did in hopes that they would return home to there loved ones.

Aftermath He hated the country for the way the people treated the veterans coming back from the war, especially the physically handicapped. When he went to apply for college and said he was a veteran to the counselor he was met with and unwelcome greeting and he held a protest against the college asking for a veterans affairs office to take care of the veterans.
