Development of an IT Resource for PGCE-Science and Science Foundation Year Students Dr Peter Haycock School of Chemistry and Physics

Background SFY and PGCE 2A students are delocalized and take modules from various departments The two groups share some common teaching sessions in Chemistry and Physics, Life Sciences and Earth Science These students require access to specific learning resources

Approach Develop a web site for each group Provide a CD of specific resource material

Web Site Separate homepage for each group Links to Keele material related to all relevant modules and learning resources Links to external material on the web

CD ROM Copies of relevant programs Example spreadsheets for numerical assignments Spreadsheet templates for laboratory work

Outcomes Ease of access to all course information Portable material for use in IT classes and laboratories Level zero presentation of material
