Basic Assumptions Should be rationally based, but not devoid of emotion Should be logically consistent but not inflexible Should be universal but also applicable to individuals Should be able to be taught Should have the ability to resolve human conflicts

Basic Principles Should attain unity but allow for individual freedom Value life, accept death Principle of Goodness or Rightness Principle of Justice of Fairness Distributive nature Principle of Truth Telling Principle of Individual Freedom

Priority of the Five Moral Principles Two Categories First Priority Value of Life and Principle of Goodness Second Priority Principle of Justice, Principle of Truth Telling and Principle of Individual Freedom Using Situation and Context to Apply Five Principles Appropriately Favors Humanitarian Ethics
