 Neutral, third party verifiable process to understand, measure, report on, and help improve an organisation`s social and environmental performance.  Ethics Resource Center’s 2009 National Business Ethics Survey, on-the-job misconduct is down, whistle-blowing is up, and ethical organizational cultures are stronger.  HR professionals play a crucial role in shaping corporate ethical codes, policies and procedures and then communicating and teaching that information to the workforce.  Not every unethical behavior or practice exerts a direct financial impact, but we should be looking for those issues because doing so can help improve the organization."

 Kentucky Fried Chicken's (KFC) business operations in India.  Entered India in 1995  Regulatory authorities found that KFC's chickens did not adhere to the Prevention of Food Adulteration Act, Chickens contained nearly three times more monosodium glutamate  Since the late 1990s, KFC faced severe protests by People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), an animal rights protection organization.  PETA accused KFC of cruelty towards chickens and released a video tape showing the ill-treatment of birds in KFC's poultry farms. 

 The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), which is the primary policymaker for industrialized nations,   The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), which is concerned  with fair treatment among multinational corporations,   The International Labor Organization (ILO), which is concerned with  direct investment in developing countries, and   The Center for Transnational Corporations (CTC), whose objective is to maximize the contributions of transnational corporations to economic development and growth and to minimize the negative effects of the activities of these corporations
