 Assistments offers tutoring, which is very time consuming to design.  Previous studies have shown that students using Assistments perform better on tests than do those who learn using traditional homework.

 Our goal is to determine whether the tutoring contributes significantly to student learning.

 Students are given a pre-test  Students do problem sets over the course of the week  Half are given tutoring  Half are given correctness-only feedback  Students take post-test one week later  Requires only one computer lab session each week.

 Week 1: Decimals and Fractions  Week 2: Percents and Proportions  Week 3: Absolute Value and Order of Operations  Week 4: Mean, Median, Mode, and Range  Week 5: Scatter Plots, Stem and Leaf Plots, Box and Whisker Plots

 Probability  Slopes and Linear Equations  Systems of Equations  Exponents and Polynomials
