This power point will be used for writing our postcards during our trips around Georgia. Maci Sims Trevena Cox Kristin Johnson

Dear Mom, Today was not a very good day for me. Trevena, Maci, and I went to Stone Mountain Park as our first trip. Before I could even get to the mountain I sprang my ankle at the bottom of the mountain. For me it wasn’t fun, but they got to enjoy the view at the top. When they were on their way up the mountain I decided to read some artifacts. Did you know Native Americans were the first humans to visit Stone Mountain about 9,000 years ago? Well, I know I learned something new today. I also found out the Native Americans used the mountain as meeting place and ceremonial place. Tomorrow I hope we have a better day. It`s going to be full of driving. Were going to the Coastal Plain. Hopefully we will be able to get there quick without speeding! Well I love you and tell everyone I said hello and I miss them. Love Kris

Dear Evania, I really miss you mom and dad even though its been a couple of days. Maci, Kristin, and I have been having a very good time on the trip. We just came back from the Okefenokee Swamp, and had a ball! The Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge is so beautiful. All the animal, flowers and trees are so awesome. We went on a guided tour in the boats. It was so fun. I learned that the Okefenokee Swamp is one of the oldest, and best preserved water systems in America. You`ll learn more about that when you get older. Well, Vanie I`ll talk to you later and tell everyone I said hello and I miss them a lot. We aren't sure where we are going next, but I will defiantly let you guys know. Oh. I forgot to tell you we went to Stone Mountain for our first trip. A lot went on there, so I really don’t want to think about that right now. I love you, and you better be a big girl at school and at home not bad mouthing momma. Love Treve

Dear Jordan, OMG! I miss you, mom, dad, and Hannah so much! We`ve been having so much fun on our trip. We just came from the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway. It was this lady who brought her baby; can you say TRAGIC! It was crying most of the time, but it calmed down eventually. The ride was so cool. Did you know the railroad was originally in the planning stages before the civil war and it would run from Marietta, GA to Murphy, NC and beyond, but the war disrupted progress? I bet you never heard of this before I sent this card. Well you just learned something new. I'm so home sick but I don’t want to come home because I'm having so much fun with Trevee and Kris. Make sure you tell everyone that I miss then and I will be back as soon as I can. Tomorrow were leaving to go to Ridge and Valley Scenic Byway. I hope it will be fun. Good thing its something you do by your self and not have to ride with other people; crying babies. Well I will talk to you later love you. Love Maci

Dear Bri, Hey Bri! I miss you and Cas so much. Its hard being away from him for so long. I wish you guys could come and visit us. Were having so much fun driving around Georgia. Our last stop was Ridge and Valley Scenic Byway. It was one of the best trips we have had since we didn’t have to pay $200 or how ever much for a hotel room because we camped out! I know you cant believe it but it was one of the prettiest places. All the flowers were beautiful. Did you know the historic homeland of the Native Indian Nation still remain in the names of the regions landmarks. For example, "Armuchee", a Cherokee word meaning "land of flowers". It describes the areas land when its covered in many of the wild flowers during the spring months, and when autumn comes, those flower colors change just as the trees do. Just got a short lesson. Well its time for me to go. I love you all and tell mommy and daddy I miss them very much. I cant wait to come home but its not time yet we still have lots of trips ahead of us. Ill see you! Love Kris

Cannonball Museum!

Dear Jordan, Hey Jordan. As surprising as this sounds, I actually miss you. Tell mom I miss her too. Today we went to the Cannonball Museum. It was so cool to learn all of that history. When we toured this historical house we learned that it was built in 1853 and is now a popular Confederate museum. On July 30,1864 during the Civil War the Battle of Dunlap Hill the Union fired their cannonball from across the Ocmulgee River and the townhouse was damaged. This will make you laugh. I actually put on a old soldiers costume and ran in to the kitchen exhibit yelling “ PEW PEW! They're firing!”. You should have seen the looks I got. Anyways I will talk to you later. Bye Jordan! Love Maci

Indian Springs State Park!

Dear Momma, Hi momma. I miss you and Evania and Dad sooooo much. Its been really fun and Kristin’s foot is completely healed. Today we went to Indian Springs State Park. The Creek Indians use to the use the springs for its “healing powers” all the time. Well I wouldn’t call the waters healing. We had the opportunity to taste the water. I recommend you not to do this. It was so fun splashing around walking up the springs and through the woods. We stayed at the Holloway Cottages. It was a cute and quaint little place. I would love for you to be here because you would love its vintage feel. I have to go so I will write a letter again soon. Sincerely Trevee
