On Time and Ready Students must be in the room and seated in their desk when the bell rings at 7:45. If students are not in the room and seated at this time, they are considered tardy. *Students must also be ready to leave for PE (shoes, notes, etc.)

If your child is absent, please send a written note stating why your child was absent. This note should be sent to school the day your child returns to school. The office determines whether or not the absence is excused. If your child is absent

Lunch Reminder Please send lunch money if your child will be eating in the cafeteria. If applying for reduced priced lunch, be certain to submit application as soon as possible. Applications were mailed home. When sending cash, please place it in an envelope with your child’s name, lunch number, and homeroom teacher written on it. When sending a check, please make sure a phone number is written on the check along with your CHILD’S NAME AND LUNCH NUMBER.

S.O.A.R., A.R. & Grade Sheet Folder These folders are purple this year. They will be sent home every Tuesday unless notified otherwise. Please sign by your child’s A.R. info, S.O.A.R. grade, and any subject grades that may be listed each week. Each student will have a grade sheet for all subjects. He/She is responsible for writing his/her correct grade on this grade sheet. These folders will be checked on Wednesdays to ensure that you have seen their folders.

Accelerated Reader Staying Informed All 6 th grade students will STAR test on Tuesday, August 16 th. Be on the lookout for a letter from the SMS Media Center about signing up for Renaissance Home Connect. This is a great way to stay informed on your child’s progress in A.R. Once you sign up, you will be notified through of each test your child takes on an A.R. book and what he/she scored. You will also be able to determine what percent of his/her A.R. goal has been met.
