In this presentation I will be talking about tourist attractions in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Fun in My Native City, by Evan Nicholson

The Rio Grande Zoo One of the tourist attractions of Albuquerque is the Rio Grande zoo. Located next to the Rio Grande in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the 62-acre Zoo has been offering guests close encounters with exotic and native animals since Just recently the zoo has adopted four Tasmanian devils! Travel details are still being arranged, but two males and two females will most likely travel from Healesville Sanctuary in Australia to Albuquerque sometime in December or January. They will live near the Tasmanian wombats and koalas in the Zoo’s exhibit.

The Botanical Garden In the Botanical Garden, you can Explore over one and a half miles of paths through formal and whimsical gardens designed to delight your senses. It’s hours are 9 A.M. to 5 P.M. daily. During the summer, it closes at 6:00 P.M., and it is closed on New Years, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. The five-acre Cottonwood Gallery is located at the north end of the Botanic Garden and accessed through the old- time Rio Grande Heritage Farm. The natural area attracts interesting wildlife, including roadrunners, kestrels, porcupines and great-horned owls.

Albuquerque Museum One of the Duke City's top attractions, the Albuquerque Museum offers a wealth of cultural and historical artifacts and works of art. From the ancient to post-modern, the Albuquerque Museum has long been a must-see showcase in Old Town. Behind Closed Doors explores the private lives and interiors of Spain's New World elite from 1492 through the nineteenth century, focusing on the house as a principal repository of fine and decorative art.

Albuquerque Aquarium Part of the ABQ BioPark, the aquarium is also located next to the Rio Grande in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Take a journey down the Rio Grande from Albuquerque to the Gulf of Mexico, visiting aquatic animals along the way! For thousands of years, ecosystems along the Gulf of Mexico remained pristine and unaltered except by forces of nature. The aquarium has several different types of underwater life, such as jellyfish, sharks, and fish.

Cliff’s Amusement Park Cliff’s is an amusement park that has several different rides and areas. It has the Water Monkies park, kiddieland, Thrill rides, and family rides. Cliff's Amusement Park has hundreds of ways to have a seriously fun time! Fun doesn't get more exciting than thrill rides like Cliff Hanger, SideWinder, the Super Fire Ball and New Mexico Rattler, one of the Top 25 Wooden Roller Coasters in the world.

Indian Pueblo Cultural Center The Indian Pueblo Cultural Center is the official cultural interpretive center for New Mexico’s 19 Pueblo Indian tribes and presents the tribes’ rich and enduring history year round through its permanent collections, changing exhibitions, cultural education programs and week-long signature events which take place in October and April. For some added experience, Native American dance performances are very popular with locals and out-of- towners-alike.

The National Museum of Nuclear Science and History The National Museum of Nuclear Science & History is the only congressionally chartered museum in its field. It is a Smithsonian affiliate. The museum strives to present through permanent and changing exhibits and displays, the diverse applications of nuclear energy in the past, present and future along with the stories of the pioneers of nuclear science.

Albuquerque international Balloon Museum The Anderson-Abruzzo Albuquerque International Balloon Museum showcases a vast collection of balloons, art work, and aerial artifacts. The exhibits show the history of ballooning and highlights the science that has thrilled human imagination for more than a Century. The Balloon Museum is also host to Balloon Fiesta park which holds many exciting festivals through out the year including a balloon fiesta each October, as well as a Folk Festival, Celtic Festival,and Renaissance Faire!

Tingley Coliseum Tingley Coliseum is used for a myriad of civic gatherings, beyond the State Fair, including concerts and sporting events. The Coliseum is an 11,571-seat multi-purpose arena in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Originally built as a rodeo and horse show auditorium.
