ELA – Mrs. Fulton Reading – This week the students will be writing a Published Product comparing and contrasting two informational texts on the same topic and giving their opinion about the topic. Then we will be moving into comparing and contrasting the characters, theme, and plot of stories by the same author. Here are some things to ask when you are reading with your child: 1.What is the main idea of the passage or paragraph you just read, and how do you know it is the main idea? 2.What details support the main idea? 3.How does the main idea and the details relate to anything else you have read on the same topic? 4.What are the plot and the theme of the book you are reading? What character traits describe the characters? Language Arts – We are reviewing common and proper nouns and capitalization this week.
