Today in Art Masterpiece, I learned about _____________________ _________________________________________________________ My favorite part was _______________________________________ _________________________________________________________ Joan Miro – Surrealist Artist 1893 – 1983 Today in Art Masterpiece, we studied Joan Miro. Joan Miro (Joe-ahn Mee-row) was born in Barcelona, Spain in He started Art School at fourteen, and quickly became a successful artist. He spent some time in Paris and was influenced by many artists there. Some of his art imitates the Surrealists, but he retained his own style. His works are characterized by bright colors and unexpected designs. He was a hard-working, modest man, and died in Art Masterpiece volunteers introduced the artist and guided students in making their own masterpiece in the style of Miro’s playful “People and Dog in Sun” or by another name “Inverted Personages.” Also pictured below to the right “Melancholy Singer” and in the middle “The Farm” (considered one of his greatest pieces of art).
