Accessory gland of Digestive system salivary gland liver pancreas gall bladder

liver largest organ and gland = 1.5 kg location: abdominal cavity beneath diaphragm

function -production of proteins (albumin, fibrinogen) -detoxification -production of bile (lipid digestion ) -accumulation & change of metabolite -double circulatory system: portal vein (70-80%) hepatic artery

structure: -Capsule (glisson's capsule) -trabeculae -lobe, lobule -hilum

1- hepatocyte: 2- sinusoids : Stroma: reticular connective tissue

Hepatocyte

Hepatocyte = polyhedral = 6 or more surface contact with: sinusoid wall contact with: with other hepatocyte

contact with other hepatocyte 1-tubular space canaliculi (first portin of bile duct system ) 2-fuse=2 plasma membrane tight junction gap junction

contact with sinusoid wall Disse space:Ito cell (fat storing cell) =stellate cell

Sinusoids: 1-Endothelial cell 2-kupffer cell(phagocytotic cell, product protein=5%)

Sinusoids:

The liver lobule 1-classic lobule 2-portal lobule 3-hepatic acinus (rappaport)

classic lobule -polygonal -centeral vein (center of lobule) -Hepatocyte( hepatic cord = radial) -Sinosoid= radial -Portal space= between different lobule

Portal space =Portal triad / space 1-Bile duct 2-hepatic arteriol 3-portal vein Nerve lymphatic vessel

Portal lobule center portal triad

hepatic acinus ( rappaport lobule ) diamond – shape Center of lobule = terminal branch of portal vein, -

double circulatory system 1-portal vein (70-80%) 2-hepatic artery hilum

portal vein

Bile ductal system --bile canaliculi -bile ductules (Hering canal) = simple cuboidal cell -bile duct

Bile canaliculi
