 To understand where Brazil is and what Brazil is like.  What do you already know about Brazil, create a brainstorm as a table, the following images will help you.

 Brazil’s Tourist Board requires a poster designing that will inform potential tourists of the contrasting ecosystems, climate and physical zones. You have been chosen to produce this poster.  Your deadline is the end of next lesson.  Your poster must include:  A map of Brazil  A description of the contrasting climates and their locations  Climate graphs  At least 4 pictures  A description of the contrasting physical zones and their location.  A description of the contrasting ecosystems and their location.  At least 5 key facts about Brazil; i.e. what language they speak, what the capital city is called etc…

Presentation (3) Does the poster have a title, does it grab your attention, is it colorful? 1 to 3 marks A description of the contrasting climates and their locations. (10) 1 mark for each climate located and 1 mark for each climate described. Climate graphs (8) 1 mark for each climate graph drawn and I mark for each climate graph that is fully labeled. A description of the contrasting ecosystems and their location. (18) 1 mark for each ecosystem labeled on the map. 1 more mark for each ecosystem described in a basic manner. 2 marks if the ecosystem is described in detail. At least 4 pictures (8) 1 mark for each picture and 1 more mark if they have a title. A description of the contrasting physical zones and their location. (6) 1 mark for labeling each on the map. 2 more marks if they have described them in a basic manner. 4 more marks if they have described them in detail. At least 5 key facts about Brazil. (5) 1 mark for each key fact check with the teacher if you are unsure if they are true.

Homework A:  Find images for poster. Homework B:  Research the contrasting physical zones in more detail and bring info to add to their poster next lesson.
