MOL The Mission Operations Laboratory Page 2 NASA MSFC Huntsville, Alabama Cell Bio Tech Demo Hardware

MOL The Mission Operations Laboratory Page 3 NASA MSFC Huntsville, Alabama General Information  The Cell Bio Tech Demo consists of four unique experiments which are being used to develop the next generation of incubator for space life science research. The experiments will run in triplicate and are:  Medium Tray 1 and Medium Tray 2  Opticell Interface Tray  Specimen Transfer Tray  Hardware Configuration for ascent:  Both CTBs launch and stow at ambient as well as for return. However the three yeast cultures from the Specimen Transfer Tray will return in a +4°C DCB Media Tray 1 Kit (3) Media Tray 2 Kit (3) OptiCell Interface Tray Kit (1) Tubing Cutter Specimen Transfer Tray Kit (3) Tubing Cutter Cell Bio Tech Demo CTB 1 (L-4 week turnover) Cell Bio Tech Demo CTB 2 (L-48 hrs turnover)

MOL The Mission Operations Laboratory Page 6 NASA MSFC Huntsville, Alabama Operations  Crew Training will consists of a short video just prior to each experiment.  Medium Tray 1 and Medium Tray 2 are two separate experiments but will be conducted back to back.  Three trays for each experiment  Opticell Interface Tray will utilize only one tray but has three Opticell cards.  Specimen Transfer Tray (separate CTB) has three trays each containing a YPD bag which will be removed from tray and allowed to incubate at ambient upon completion of experiment. After incubation the YPD Stowage Bag will be inserted into MELFI at 4°C.  There is a questionnaire at the end of each experiment.

MOL The Mission Operations Laboratory Page 7 NASA MSFC Huntsville, Alabama Safety Summary  The Safety Data Pack …….has not yet been signed. However, there are no expected hazards for this experiment.  Tox level is zero for all trays.
