What are the pros and cons of different image formatting?

Pixel– the smallest picture element that a computer monitor or projector can display and from which picture images are built. Resolution- a measure of the sharpness of an image displayed on a computer. dpi– (dots per inch)– the way resolution is measured for an image. The higher the resolution the higher the DPI. The more pixels the greater the resolution.
