Business Courses/Programs Finance – Management of money (Investments, Banking, Should company provide stocks or bonds, etc.) Accounting- Tracking and evaluating how money is used by a companies (CPA) Supply Chain Management- Finding the best way to get products to customers.

Business Courses/Programs Marketing- Promoting/Advertising Products Entrepreneurship- Starting and running your own business Management Information Systems- Mix of Business and Technology. Using technology to run more effectively and efficiently Economics- The Study of how people, business, and countries make choices

Getting an Education Education Options ( Start looking ASAP) – Traditional College (Community College, University, Liberal Arts, etc.) – Specialized/Trade School (Carrington, Tucson College, Universal Technical Institute, Empire Beauty School,) – Military – Internships/Apprenticeships – Self Taught (Books/Internet/Youtube/about.com, etc.)

Factors to consider – Costs – Location – Size – Program/Major – Compatibility – School Reputation – Faculty/Student Ratio – Job Placement – Best Value

Is trade school or traditional college right for me? Depends on career choice. Costs: Cost Should not be way more than What you will make Universities: High cost vs. value – University of Phoenix, ITT Tech, DeVry, Kaplan Example: – Nursing- Makes great money, but few schools have it. A high priced school might be worth it.

Why are Degrees, Certifications, & Certificates Important? It is documented evidence that you know what you are doing. They can’t be taken away from you Provide a save point (like in games) to start from again

How to Pay for College Work and pay as you go Community college – Credits from CC can transfer FAFSA – Always fill this out (beginning of the year) – Can lead to grants (free money), on campus work, and is required by most scholarship applications Scholarships – Most schools have a general scholarship app. – Fast Web, Scholarships.com, school website

How to Pay for College Student Loans (Only borrow what you need) – Last resort, remember don’t go to an expensive school unless you can pay for it when you graduate. – Subsidized Loans- Government pays Interest while in school – Unsubsidized Loans- You must pay interest – IF YOU NEED MORE THAN WHAT THE GOVERNMENT HAS GIVEN YOU, THEN YOU SHOULD RETHINK THE SCHOOL YOU ARE ATTENDING OR HOW YOU ARE SPENDING THE MONEY! – Don’t use Personal loans, Parent Plus loans, bank/credit union loans, Military Start saving money as soon as you can!
