What is this unit about?

Learning aims  In this unit you will: – Learning Aim A Investigate online services and online communication – Learning Aim B Investigate components of the internet and how digital devices exchange and store information – Learning Aim C Investigate issues with operating online You will be assessed by an onscreen test. The test will last for one hour.

Online services There are a range of online services to include: Communication – communicating with other people around the world  Real time information – information found on the web Commerce – selling products online Government – a service only the government uses Education – learning online Business – doing business online Entertainment – YouTube, Facebook, twitter Download Services – downloading a file onto your computer  Communication types  types, messaging, news groups, social networks, conferencing, blogs and Vlogs  Benefits Instant response to someone who is remote from you at no additional cost to your broadband fee Socialising
