A S A KID MY FAVORITE MEMORY WITH READING WAS WHEN IT WAS ABOUT TO BE BED TIME AND MY MOM WOULD READ A CHAPTER OF THE BOOK WE WERE READING TO ME. W E WOULD LAY IN BED AND I WOULD FALL ASLEEP LISTENING TO HER. I ALWAYS HAVE ENJOYED BEING READ TO RATHER THEN ME READING. I THINK THAT ’ S WHY I HATED READING SO MUCH AS A KID. I WOULD WHAT TO BE READ TO, NOT ME READING. I HAVE LEARNED THAT READING ISN ' T SO BAD. Y OU JUST HAVE TO FIND A BOOK THAT WILL KEEP YOUR ATTENTION. M Y EIGHTH GRADE E NGLISH TEACHER TAUGHT ME THAT IF YOU CAN PUT YOURSELF IN EVERY BOOK YOU READ IT WILL BE EASIER TO KEEP YOUR ATTENTION.

A land to remember is about a family in the 30’s. The book goes though the family's life. The family had to work very hard for everything they got. Nothing was handed to them. Though the bad and good times the family always stayed together and looked at the bright side of things. All the family's hard worked paid off in the end because they ended up being rich. The book thought me hard work pays off and to look at the bright side of things. Goes to show anything is possible. A land to remember by Patrick D. Smith

Dear John by Nicholas Sparks I watched the movie Dear John a thousand times and loved it. When I was going on vacation to key west over summer I wanted to have a book with me to read. I thought way not Dear John I loved the movie so the book couldn’t be that bad. This was the first book I really enjoyed without having to read it for school. Even though I knew what was going to happen next I just never wanted to put it down. Dear John is about a young man who goes on a leave from the army and falls in love with a girl. When he went back to the army there love ends because of differences.

Scars by Cheryl Rainfield Scars is one of my favorite books. Its about a girl who was sexual abused. When her abuser starts to threaten her, she starts to cut to cope with the pain. With the help of her family, therapist, her new girlfriend, and a lot of will power she was able to over it all and come out on top. This book taught me a good life lesson. It taught me to never give up no matter how hard things are or how hard things get. Just keep pushing because you can get over it. It'll be a great feeling knowing were you came from to where you are now.
