Formed in May Open to Irish Companies and Researchers in the Water/wastewater Industry. Capability in Ireland is as a result of industrialisation via water intensive industries. Currently 80+ SME companies in this sector, (from large companies to start ups) and 40 are actively involved in the Cluster. Large Players: Irish Water, Veolia, Jacobs, etc. In addition, 30 researchers spread over 6 research centres. Water/wastewater Industry Cluster for Ireland

The Cluster brings together national capability in the water/wastewater sector. There is significant capability in both mainstream water/wastewater products/services and associated products/services. Good capability at research level in key areas. Pipeline of innovative ideas and start-ups in the sector. By working together as a collaborative Cluster, we can offer a more comprehensive range of products and services, addressing a greater proportion of the needs of potential customers. Seeking out key Industry sectors where large volumes of water are used and large volumes of wastewater must be treated. What are the key issues for these industries? Water/wastewater Industry Cluster for Ireland - Events Opportunities in the Turkish Market Report. Working with new National Utility – Irish Water. Opportunities and Challenges in the Irish Dairy Processing sector. Four Events planned by EI for next year: 1.Inward Buyer Event: Tier 1 Contactors for UK Water Industry – March Market Knowledge Event for an UK Food/Bev sub sector – May Inward Buyer Event: Northern European Food/Bev – Sept Innovation/Emerging Technologies Event.

Cluster is seeking external collaborations. The Cluster is keen to collaborate with national organisations/international groups. Increased collaboration to raise profile and market presence for mutual benefit. Our researchers are happy to work with overseas innovators bringing our national capability to bear on key issues and challenges – new test facility being developed by Irish Water.
