Buddhism By Kevin McMahon

Buddhism Buddhism is the fourth largest religion in the world. It was founded in northern India by the Buddha, Siddhartha Guatama. Buddhism was adapted into Japanese culture when prince Shotoku converted to Buddhism.

Beliefs Buddhists do not believe in a god, instead they follow the example of their role model, the Buddha. They believe in reincarnation, if you are good in the life that you have, you will have a better life in your next life.

The Buddha’s four noble truths The Buddha’s four noble truths can be described as: To be fully understood: the universality of suffering. To be abandoned: the desire to have and control things which cause suffering. To be made visible: the mind experiences complete freedom and liberation. To be brought into being: the truth of the eightfold ariya path leading to the cessation of suffering.

Buddhism is the fourth largest religion in the world. It is only bested by: Christianity Islam and Hinduism
