 Abundant Harvest Why the Food Bank? Gloria Emmanuel, Director December 12, 2012

A Question to Ponder…  What makes you hungry?  Are you all able to satisfy yourselves every time you get hungry?

Statistics  According to Feeding America, one out of every six Americans cannot, or is unable, to access food most of the time.  Estimated of 56 million Americans suffer hunger everyday

History  Abundant Harvest was established in 1982, and is based in Northridge.  This organization has been growing with the support of the community ever since.

What is a Food Bank?  A food bank is a community service based organization that collects and delivers food donations, and provides food for hungry people.

More About the Food Bank…  “The food pantry is hardly ever full. There are many hungry victims coming for food. We cannot let them go on starving.”  Abundant Harvest encountered 250-thousand local hungry victims and more to count.

Winter Holidays Food Drive  Food drives are the charity Abundant Harvest participates in to help provide food for the hungry victims.  Food drives vary from donations of foods to money donations.

What Can You Do to Help?  Any support counts.  Save and donate leftovers.  Make a food donation.  Come and help fight hunger at our campaigns.  Attend our fundraisers. Become a volunteer.
